Reconnecting / God
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. – Revelation 3:20 Original sin separated us from God but there is in all of us the need to connect with him. Through Jesus we can reconnect with God personally. To communicate with God, we need to stay present and open to the wisdom that is available to us all the time.. If you want to stay connected with God, you need to slow down so the Spirit can get your attention. It is hard to remain related to the Holy when your life is so busy that you barely have time to sleep. God’s light will be revealed in our lives whenever we open up space for it to shine. The spirit lives within us and around us. Spirit connects us with all of life both animate and inanimate. Did you know that Meditation and prayer are all about creating openings for the Holy to reveal itself in our lives. Meditation can help you to experience God within yourself through your body, emotions, and mind. Prayer is more like an open conversation with Spirit. There are countless ways to pray and meditate. I'm Definitely learning to meditate on God's word more. My prayer life needs work. I'm learning to pray not just before i go to bed or wake up but through out the day. Like the song says "I Need Thee Every Hour , I Need Thee. That song reminds us that there's a constant need for the Savior at all times of our lives . Question we should ask ourselves how often do we depend on ourselves more than God. I'll be the first to say I'm guilty. I get so caught up in the situation I'm dealing with. I put God second. Not realizing in that moment all I need to do is cry out " I Need Thee precious lord , I Need Thee. JESUS said in " John 14 :6 " I Am The Truth And The Life No One Can Come To The Father Except Through Me.... In the end, you need to find a practice that works for you. You can have a conversation with God, but don’t expect instant answers. It may seem like God is not hearing you, but years later, you will find that God did respond, not necessarily in the way, you had hoped. "Psalm 42:2" says. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? Our souls should be aching to be quenched with all of God's goodness. We just need to make it a priority to carve out more time in our day to make it all happen. Regardless of anything else that was going on in our life at that moment. Prayer can include a lot of active waiting. It is about living as though your prayer is answered but without any expectation of how God is going to respond.. Romans 12:12 "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer."
