Serving
Galatians 5:13-14
Servering others usually requires no special talent or abilities. It does take a servant's attitude to want to serve others. God must give us a servant attitude. we cannot change our hearts. But we can do those things which God ordinarily uses to change us. Scripture, prayer , and obedience. We must fill out minds with scriptures that teach servanthood. We must pray earnestly for God to give us the heart of a servant. And then we must obey. That is , we must respond to every opportunity to serve which he places before us. We cannot pick and choose our occasions of serving others . if we want God to give us a servant's heart. it's not easy to be a servant to others in the body of Christ. The true test of whether we are servants is that we don't mind being treated like servants. When we are serving we need to accept our role and serve whether or not considerateness or gratitude is shown. We must simply say I have only done my duty ; I have only done what God called me to do. When couples sever others together they experience peace , contentment and a deeper bond that strengthens their marriage. Serving together has benefits that go beyond bonding , Contentment and peace. There's a sweet intimacy that comes with working together. Embrace God's call to serve others expericencec an added closeness. But in the end it's not really about you. It's about them the poor , the needy , those who need a touch from God. Whenever you serve others you become the hands and feet of your savior you change lives. Are you and your spouse servering each other and others ?
