The Cord of Three Strands symbolizes the joining of one man and one woman by God into a marriage relationship. Marriage takes three; you, your soon to be spouse, and God. It was God who taught us to love. By keeping Him at the center of your marriage, His love will continue to bind you together as one throughout your marriage. I can remember doing this with my wife and I tell you the impact it had on me was overwhelming as I watch my wife tie the knots together my life became seal in a union that's enriched and bound together in Christ it's like my wife tied our hearts together. Uniting us together in a covenant relationship with God as one. The image of my wife tying the knots together is forever engraved in my heart . It was like the light of God was shining on the cords as she bound them together . Today that Cord of three hangs above our wedding pictures as a reminder of our Covenant with God and each other .
