Setting Goals
"I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Phil. 3:14 The goal in marriage is not to think alike. but to think together. The greatest couples worship Jesus not each other. Sacrifice in marriage. Committ to date night once a week or twice a month or monthly. Write love notes or send texts to one another. Read marriage books together and discuss them. Connect physically with each other daily. through holding hands , kissing , hugging or sex. Plan an overnight date together once a year. Establish a weekly meeting routine where you and your spouse can sit back and relax and unwind and listen to some Spiritual music. I think it's important to create a mission statement for your marriage. One of the most beautiful part of a relationship is the different roles you take on in the relationship to keep it going. True love isn't Romeo and Juliet it's Grandma and Grandpa who grew old together. 1 Corinthians 13:7 love bears all things , believes all things , hopes all things endures all things. One of the most important things in life is to learn how to give out love , and to let it come in. A good marriage requires time. It requires effort. You have to work at it and cultivate it. One more thing to remember. it took two to get married but it will take three to stay married. Keep God in your marriage. Learn each other's strength , forgive each others weaknesses. You have to understand that marriage is a lifelong course in learning to be unselfish. What goals are you seeking in your marriage.
